MacArthur Middle School student, Addison Meyer is getting a chance to expand her STEM knowledge by being selected to attend a camp at Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Meyer was nominated by her honors math teacher at MMS, Mrs. Cindy Young, and was selected to attend the Southwest Alliance for Girls’ Enrichment in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts / Humanities, and Mathematics (SAGE STEAM) Camp.
The camp is a week-long residential program held on SWOSU’s Weatherford campus each summer. Students get hands-on experience in science experiments, technology applications, design and building, writing reflections, and math applications while interacting with other girls like them.
“I am very excited to attend the SAGE STEM camp this summer,” said Meyer about being selected. “I am honored to be one of the few selected to attend from across the state of Oklahoma. I know that I will get to do a lot of exciting things and am looking forward to the science, math, and art portions of the week.”
Lawton Publics Schools would like to congratulate Addison on her selection to the SAGE STEM camp and we look forward to hearing all about the experience.
